BRANDING AND POSITIONING FOR A VITAL DISABILITY SERVICES NONPROFIT

Role: Creative Director, Copywriter

The Minnesota Employment Center is a nonprofit that works with Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard-of-Hearing Minnesotans to find customized employment opportunities, discover new skills and expand their opportunities for finding work.

I helped them develop a new brand identity and positioning in 2016. My teammates and I interviewed principals at the brand about its history, process and differentiators in order to arrive at an effective messaging hierarchy and brand identity. The team members at MEC take pride in finding a customized solution for each person they serve. The messages I developed helped illustrate how MEC goes above and beyond to find a job placement that works for everyone, no matter their situation or challenge.

In addition, my team designed a creative system that modernized the look using inspiration from Braille script, while adhering to accessibility standards for visually impaired users. Our system and messages were implemented across brochures, mailers, business materials and a new website.
